| As documented in Bernard Mishuris's autobiography, Tsipa and Bernard had trouble immigrated to the US with Russian passports. While passing through Galatz, Romania, 1920, Tsipa bribed an official to obtain this Romanian passport. Note that in subsequent documents she maintains the fiction of a Romanian origin; in her passenger list, however, she lists her mother Hinde Flickstein living in Balta, Russia. |
